About Rani Baug Zoo (Byculla Zoo)
The famous Rani Baug zoo in Mumbai is officially called Veermata Jijabai Bhosale Udyan and Zoo. It is located in Byculla and is one of the oldest zoos and botanical gardens in India, established in 1861 during British rule. Earlier it was called “Victoria Gardens.”
